WHO IS BEHIND OPENAID
OPENaid is an initiate birthed in Melbourne, Australia, now unfolding in Thailand, Burma and Australia. Workers join together in teams (communities), working together to achieve freedom, hope and justice for abused and poorest women and girls.

- Justin Whitecross
Executive Director
OPENaid founder and director, Justin Whitecross, has been heavily involved with girls at risk in Thailand over the past decade and formulated a strategy to address the psychological, educational and security needs of young women who are deeply traumatized, isolated and vulnerable. He trained in theology and ministry and worked in many Australian cities before returning to University in Melbourne to study psychology. His leadership and management skills, vision and passion, continue to engineer the architecture of OPENaid.

- Anna Kha
Executive Assistant
Anna completed a Masters of Social Science (International Development) at RMIT in Melbourne in 2007. She completed her RMIT placement with World Vision in Melbourne, centred around anti-trafficking initiatives in Thailand which involved travelling to the Thai - Burma border to visit project sites. Anna's background is in primary teaching and she has been associated with children and creative ministries through her local church. Anna is passionate about protecting the rights of the vulnerable child and is challenged and excited to be able to serve the OPENAid team through the Melbourne office. Anna lives with her husband Vince, bakes amazing cakes and cookies and would have loved to have been a Country and Western Singer (if only she could sing!).

- Rattana Samanya
Staff Manager
Rattana joined OPENaid in January 2007. She is from Nakhonphanom in northeast Thailand. Relocating to Pattaya in 2002 to secure employment to support her daughter, Wipada (9 years old) and begin new education and vocational training at Pattaya College. Rattana is dedicated to unfolding opportunities for young, vulnerable girls to reduce risk of abuse and exploitation. Rattana enjoys good food, loves flowers and gardens and chatting with friends! She manages staff and program activities under the direction of OPENaid's ED.

- Waranya Pinakase
Office Manager
Waranya is from Kamphaeng Phet in northern Thailand. She is married to Ai and has has two sons and one daughter (14, 10 and 2 years old). She worked in retail sales in Pattaya for eight years before accepting the invitation to jojn management with OPENaid in Thailand. Waranya oversees staff movements and program activities, managing OPENaid from headquarters in Pattaya.

Ai joins OPENaid to manage the newest program: Girls at Risk Education Program. He is 30 years old and very, very talented communicator with children. He is passionate about educating children and supporting opportunities for advanced education and family development.

- Graruna Wannawang
Graruna started with OPENaid in October 2008 enthusiastically accepting the opportunity to work with vulnerable girls across northeast Thailand. Passionate advocate for girls' and thier rights in Thailand, after completing university she worked with government departments assisting administration of education in northern province schools.

- Sumalee Jarearnsuk
Women's Development Program
Sumalee Jarearnsuk, married to Sombud Choomphorn, is from Prachinburi and her daughter, Thirawan, is 1 year old. Before joining OPENaid in June 2008, Sumalee worked with Sun Yo Universal in Prachinburi. With her husband she moved to Pattaya in 2005 to increase employment opportunities to support her family. She is eager to learn and develop new skills and abilities and is committed to helping poorest women and young girls.
- Yohun Kwanla
Video production and field work
Yohan is 23 years old and started full time employment with OPENaid in January 2008. Yohan is learning video production and taking responsibility for a range of assignments with OPENaid photographing and recording images and clips for marketing and research work. He completed school in Samobsong Khraam in 2004 and his family is from Bangkok.

- Srisakun Homthong
Administrator, Thailand
Srisakun Homthong joined OPENaid after completing engineering at university in Bangkok. She has already achieved excellent written and spoken English skills and is excited with opportunities to develop further at OPENaid. Besides music, she enjoys the beach and spending time with family and friends.
Chiang Rai 'Grace Church Projects'

- Sai M.
Sai is 32 and married to Naw Phaw Shee. Sai and Phaw Shee are extremely dedicated and loving, committed to helping Burmese migrants fleeing Burma’s military and poverty. Sai has worked very closely with issues effecting migrants in northern Burma and Thailand for over a decade. Sai is pastor of Grace Church and together with Phaw Shee has completed studies in Yangon in theology and missions.

- Ni Sat Tin Htoo
Burma Program
Ni Sat Tin Htoo completed studies at Yangon University in Law and Business Management. She has had a variety of experience in NGOs and has completed training in development. She is dedicated to helping people and believes everyone should have opportunities and hope.

- Simon Yang
Accounting, Melbourne
Simon came to Melbourne in 2002 and completed his VCE and undergraduate course at Melbourne University in November 2006. He specialized in Accounting and Finance and has a strong desire to advance his skills professionally. Simon joined OPENaid in 2006 as a volunteer and is now coordinating fundraising activities and managing accounting practices in Melbourne.

- Parichat Prom Wongsanon
Accounts, Thailand
Parichat graduated from Pattaya Commercial College (accounting) 2000 and works full time in Pattaya in business accounting (part time at OPENaid). She enjoys her profession and additional learning opportunities. Parichat joined OPENaid in 2008 in Thailand and now manages accounting at headquarters in Pattaya.

- Jane Richardson
Assistant Administration, Melbourne
Jane has been involved with OPENaid for many years and makes invaluable contributions managing administration in Melbourne and participation with fundraising barbecue team. She completed certificate 4 in accounting in June 2008 in Melbourne. Jane lives with her family in Essendon and is passionate about OPENaid and its ongoing development.

- Brendon Richardson
Brendon is one of OPENaid's most dedicated and passionate young workers. He participates in many ways in Melbourne and generously gives himself weekends with team members working to generate funds for the organisation. Brendon engages in formation with our team Tuesday's and is so loved at OPENaid!
