Leadership for Change Program

July to December 2010
This exciting program opens a very unique learning opportunity for 2 university students (male or female) to participate in a 6 month work program with Openaid.
You will experience
1. Real life project management with small NGO
2. Distinct approach to grassroots project formation in Southeast Asia confronting gender issues and poverty that increases vulnerability to trafficking and sexual exploitation
3. Education with experts and practitioners
4. Mentoring and leadership development from established leaders
Successful applicants will work 8 hours per week (Project Development Office, Lygon Street, Carlton). Openaid's LFC Activity Coordinator will supervise and manage day-to-day activities in Melbourne, including interviewing and project implementation.
Generous sponsorship enables funding for field-experience in Thailand. You will travel extensively and work with villages, slums and various migrant community groups. Openaid Executive Director, Justin Whitecross, is ultimately responsible for the program and directs all field-work project activity.
From the beginning, participants will be challenged to manage specific actions and expected to undertake serious dedication to close gaps between 'ideas and tangible results'. Critical performance areas will be clearly communicated.
You will learn. You will contribute. You will value the organisation and our results.
