Unlimited opportunities working with villages and schools

We establish very special relationships with village-based schools and villagers and together, identify opportunities to undertake community-driven responses to assist the poorest and most disadvantaged young girls.
The program is now 2 years old and operates in 14 villages across northeast Thailand and Chonburi provinces. Priority focus in on fostering relationships and nurturing dialogue to cultivate grassroot projects developing education, economic growth and community networking.
In the coming year the goals of the programs are:
• Continue nurturing the relationships at established school projects and look to build stronger relationships in five of our newer schools through continued teaching, community (pink) activities and microfinance projects, focusing on reaching communities of women and identifying advocates of our work within these communities.
• Openaid would like to expand the scope of its reach to encompass secondary schools in the areas that we are working so there is a fluidity of aid to the girls as they grow and a continued relational presence, prospectively approaching 10 new schools throughout next year.
• The introduction of Village Voices... an annual 3 day event for girls from the schools/communities we are working with, bringing them to Nakhon Phanom and opening their eyes to the opportunities they could have by introducing them to educated women in specialised trades and academia, thereby supporting young leaders within their respective village communities.
• Meeting our proposed timeline of working in each school/community on a quarterly basis.
• Increasing staff capacity so there is a designated team of 4-5 members for the school program.
