The program continues to expand as need for these specialised services grows.

OPENaid recently opened a new center in Pattaya to assist women and girls in our care. OPENaid plans to establish several new initiatives later this year.

The program provides care and assistance to young girls between 9 and 15 years of age who are vulnerable to sexual exploitation; girls 15 to 20 years of age in commercially sexually exploitative situations; and women 20 to 50 years old unable to live with dignity or hope due to poverty and/or physical and sexual abuse.

The program provides long-term care and support including counseling, a range of psychosocial activities, education and vocational skill development, activities nurturing and encouraging spiritual growth, and microenterprise support to help women to take control of their lives.

What are the key results expected (12 months) from the program?

1. 120 mothers in poverty with young daughters in slums will receive a range of psychosocial support, counseling and education to increase capacity to overcome obstables and pursue commercially viable income activities
2. 80 women in poverty in slums will be financed into a microenterprise activity and given support for job readiness
3. 100 young girls in poverty in slums will have opportunity for counseling, vocational education and training in loving environment as a means to helping these girls build their lives
4. 280 young girls in sex work with backgrounds of violence, sexual abuse and trafficking will have opportunities for individual counseling, group therapy and a range of psychosocial and vocational support integral for job readiness and community reintegration
5. OPENaid's approach to recovery is holistic so all women and girls have opportunities to share in activities nurturing and encouraging spiritual healing and growth.

OPENaid’s team is now firmly established, management in place, policies and processes produced.
