Who we are

Our structures and preferred shape has changed over the years. The core team and primary leaders have shared, listened and experimented with the work to eventually find the right framework and overall big picture for the long-term.

Our core values are now at the forefront of everything we attempt to do. They help us to raise our work and cultivate our relationships, inspiration and hope. This is why Openaid exists, in Australia and Southeast Asia. These values affect all our decisions, goals to dreams for the future.

Our values

  1. We believe in building authentic relationships based on integrity, respect, compassion and justice for victims of oppression and injustice.
  2. We believe in equality for all irrespective of background, gender, education or religious affiliation.
  3. We believe in the agency of individuals and aim to support them with all the tools God has for them to live with dignity and self-sufficiency.
  4. We believe in deep reflection and thoughtful and committed action to help communities and individuals develop crucial change that affects the whole of life.

Openaid aims to stop trafficking and sexual exploitation of girls in Southeast Asia. We focus on grassroots partnerships, releasing people from poverty, and cultivating people's confidence and abilities to look to the future and break through almost overwhelming challenges in Asia Pacific region.

A lot has happened since those early days and there has been a lot of growing. We live and share Openaid today to hear families and girls and to see them free from prostitution and injustice.
