
Executive Director
Openaid founder and director, Justin Whitecross, has been heavily involved with girls at risk in Thailand over the past decade and formulated a strategy to address the psychological, educational and security needs of young women who are deeply traumatized, isolated and vulnerable. He trained in theology and ministry and worked in many Australian cities before returning to University in Melbourne to study psychology. His leadership and management skills, vision and passion, continue to engineer the architecture of Openaid. Justin is married to Rattana and together remain dedicated to the vision of Openaid.

Staff Coordinator, Thailand
Rattana is a very experienced and talented member of our team. Rattana joined our staff in 2007. She has been staff coordinator for the last two years. She has one daughter in secondary school in Thailand, is married to Justin and enjoys traveling and eating good food with friends and family. Rattana is the person who organises team members and handles many administrative and teaching duties in Thailand.

Senior Team, Melbourne
Preethi began her involvement with Openaid in 2008, drawn to its unique and grassroots approach to tackling the problems of poverty and exploitation of young girls and women. Her role is to manage organisational development of the Melbourne office - part of Openaid's ongoing efforts to create a base in Melbourne that will most effectively support its work in some of the most vulnerable communities in South-East Asia.

Administration and Finance
Peter and his family have been supporting Openaid for many years. He joined the team in 2009 and manages administration and finance. He is deeply committed to our work and has vast experience in the finance field. Peter and his wife Ruth enjoy weekend craft markets and spending time with their two children.

Project Coordinator, Burma
Ni Sat has been with our team since 2004. She is a graduate of Yangon University and is working in relief and development field since 2000. Ni Sat and her husband have 1 daughter. She enjoys traveling and spending time with children and loves being involved helping communities across Burma.

Project Staff, Thailand
Waranya has been with our team since 2008 and has been involved with programs with women and children. Waranya and her husband, Ai, have two children. She loves cooking, shopping and eating nice food with friends and family.

Project Staff, Thailand
Ai was born and raised in Sa Kaeo. He moved to Pattaya in 1990 to work and started his new life with his wife, Waranya, in 2000. Before joining our team, he worked for a company in Pattaya managing sales. Ai and his wife have 2 young children.
